I’ve spent a good part of my life studying vintage. First at flea markets and yard sales in my teens as I shopped for goodies to style alongside product as a merchandiser. Later, as a course of study writing about how the design process has evolved through the years. And most recently as an important input for what trends would emerge next in fashion. What’s old is new again, so they say. My favorite part about studying vintage? The colors. And specifically the way those colors on paper have aged. Slightly dusty, tinted, soft shades that seem to tell a nostalgic story of good design and well made product.
