Our Favorite Playlists + Podcasts to Create To

IMG_0225.jpg

Hey there friends!

Today, we are on a mission to provide you with our favorite playlists + podcasts to create to.

I’m not sure about you, but the work / art / life I can get done with something inspiring playing in my ear is pretty magical.

I find a good playlist the perfect backdrop for painting, planning, building vision boards and project ideas...with plenty of dance breaks built in.

And, a life-long learner, especially  as I’m tackling a new skill or project - podcasts are a great way for me to learn from experts daily. Be it in art, business or interior design, here are a few of my faves that I’m listening to on the regular these days.

Playlists

Podcasts

Second Life

An all-access interview format podcast from Hillary Kerr, founder of Who What Wear, MyDomaine and other media must-knows.  We love the girl-chat type vibe packaging big wows inspiring entrepreneurs and creatives on how they've navigated career and life changes and share their learnings with us.  And as a second-lifer myself, I really, really love hearing how other women have remade themselves time and time again. Two of our faves so far, Jen Gotch of Ban.do and stylist / blogger / TV star / designer Emily Henderson.

Design Matters with Debbie Millman

Design Matters with Debbie Millman is one of the world’s very first podcasts. Broadcasting independently for over 14 years, the show is about how incredibly creative people design the arc of their lives.

Do it for the Process Podcast

Empowering you to live creatively and to THRIVE while doing so! A Podcast by professional artist & educator, Emily Jeffords. I love her soothing voice, her approach to making art for the process and joy to be found in it.

More Than One Thing

To say I’m obsessed with Athena Calederone might be a slight understatement. Her More Than One Thing podcast is a great reminder that it’s not only okay to be more than one thing, but is something to be celebrated. Each week, Athena interviews successful creatives whose journeys might appear perfect and smooth. Through their conversations, she pulls back the curtain to show us the bumpy, windy, twisty road they took to get to where they are today. A recent fave is this Cleo Wade interview

Expanded Podcast

If you’re in the mood for a little woo, this is the lisen for you. The Expanded Podcast created by To Be Magnetic™ is the go-to podcast for grounded manifestation. Created by expert Lacy Phillips, she unpacks her process for manifestation that is rooted in psychology, neuroscience and energetic insights. I love the variety of topics + guests she highlights throughout the podcast.

I’ve recently been devouring more and more podcasts related to home design, as I work on wallpaper patterns to launch later this year (eep!) and dream of an entire home collection from The Color Kind in the not-to-distant future. A few of my most listened to_

Domino Magazines : Design Time

I love pretty much everything Domino magazine does, and this podcast is no exception. Full of inspiring listens and interviews with experts from the design world, I’m especially loving some of the interviews with leading interior designers of today here, here and here

Business of Home

Another inspiring listen related to home, this one goes through the story and the process behind some of your most loved interior designers, product lines and brands. I have loved learning in EACH of the podcasts I’ve listened to. Some faves : Rebecca Atwood and John Robshaw.

The Style Files

Thoughtful conversations and insights with tastemakers in interior and home design. I especially loved these Aerin Lauder and India Hicks interviews.

Wishing you all the best on your creative journey...

Happy Listening,

Jill Xx
